The latest world heritage site, the Archaeological Heritage of the Lenggong Valley (AHLV) in Perak now makes for four world heritage sites in Malaysia recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation’s (Unesco) World Heritage List.
According to Bernama, the National Heritage Department on Tuesday said in a statement from St Petersburg, Russia that AHLV has notched the 953rd spot on the World Heritage List, entailing the listing to be testament to “another dimension of the global recognition of Malaysia as a nation endowed with and committed to the conservation and protection of its world renowned heritage.”
